In the IT & T department there is currently a vacancy for a
“Senior Database Administrator”

This role reports to the IT Manager and acts as the Database Administrator over core database systems for the business which will focus on SQL Server & Oracle databases.
This position brings along the following responsibilities:
- Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing and production usage
- Liaises with programmers, applications / operational staff, IT project managers and other technical staff to support product / application development and data analytics
- Responsible for effective provisioning, installation / configuration, operation and maintenance of SQL Server & Oracle databases, database software and related infrastructure
- Ensures that production databases are secure, have minimal downtime and are tuned for optimal performance and response time
- Takes on a key role to ensure that related procedures meet the organizational needs
- Manages database integrity and backup and restore procedures
- Applies security patching and conduct version upgrade

Candidates should have the following personal requirements:

And the following educational requirements and work experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or Information Technology
- At least five (5) years of professional experience in the relevant field
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL server 2017 and Oracle 11g/12c
- Appropriate engineering qualifications / certifications of Microsoft SQL Server / Oracle would be an advantage to your application
- Knowledge of MongoDB / Kafka / Hive will be considered an asset
- Fluent English (written and spoken)
